Donna Marie Peterson, 89, of Rice Lake, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2022.
Donna was born to Leif and Della (Peterson) Iverson in Eau Claire, where she had lived the most of her life. She worked at Presto for many years until she retired, she also spent much time at the family resort in Minong. She married Willard “Red” Peterson in 1986, and later moved to Minong until his passing.
Donna is survived by her children, Dwight ( Bonnie) Veitch of Birchwood and Mark ( Lisa) Veitch of Oxford; grandsons, Dan ( Kayla) Veitch and Mark Veitch Jr.; and five great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard “Red” Peterson; parents, Leif and Della (Peterson) Iverson; and brother, Jerry (Maxine) Iverson.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, April 7, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel. A burial will follow the visitation at Forest Hill Cemetery.
My deepest condolences to the family. I greatly enjoyed visiting with Donna outside and in her home in Minong. She was always friendly, enjoyed visitors, and had a wonderful smile. She will be missed. I pray you experience God’s peace and love during this time. -Erin Boerschel

Gary’s parents, Fred and Alice Kersten were very good friends of Donna and Reds. They traveled together to Vegas and I know they fished together around the area.
Again, we are so sorry for Donna’s passing.
