Dorothy Arlis (Brott) Kriesel, 84 of Eau Claire, and formerly of Cleghorn, died Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Grace Edgewood Assisted Living under the care of St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Dorothy was born November 1, 1931 at Sacred Heart Hospital to John and Rachel (Woodford)Brott. Dorothy married Arnold Kriesel of Fall Creek on June 30, 1951 at Zion Lutheran Church in Cleghorn, where they resided until 1998 until moving to Eau Claire. Dorothy was a school cook at Cleghorn Grade school for 30 years; a job she truly loved. She was also a member of Pleasant Fire Department Auxiliary. Dorothy was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cleghorn. She enjoyed watching the Packers and Brewers and local sports teams.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Diane (Kerry) Kleist of Eau Claire and Pat Miller of Eleva; grandsons, Patrick, Nathan, and Daniel; special nephew, Rodney (Deb) Brott of Eau Claire; sisters, Irene Schober, Lorraine(Rod) Stenzel, and Sharon Germann; brother, Mike (LaVonne) Brott; and many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brothers, Junior, Loren, and Orville.

A special thank you to Grace Edgewood for all the care Dorothy was given.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Cleghorn with Pastor Timothy Moe officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Burial will follow the service at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Cleghorn.

  1. Our condolences to the entire family. Dorothy was one of the sweetest ladies and a wonderful neighbor to the Thiess family. I am sure she will be missed by her many family members as well as the Cleghorn community.

  2. Loving thoughts sent your way during the loss of your mother. I can see Dorothy’s smile and hear her voice. Dorothy was a very pleasant person and I am fortunate to have been able to say hello to her a year ago. I often wonder how beautiful heaven is during the Easter season.   3. Dorothy and Arnie were two great people I very fondly remember growing up in Cleghorn. Loved having Dorothy at the schools as cook through my years at Cleghorn school. Great memories! God bless!

    I am sorry to see your the obituary of your dear mother. I really enjoyed being able to meet both her and your dad Arnie. She was always very sweet.
