Gerald Duane Solfest, 80, of Eau Claire, WI, passed on to a better place on Friday, October 16th, 2015 at Fall Creek Valley Care Center.
Gerald “Jerry”, son of Benny and Mary (Norby) Solfest, was born on September 13th, 1935 in Mondovi, WI. Jerry served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne from 1956 to 1958. He married Sandra Chambers on May 18th, 1967 and they made their home on Starr Avenue in Eau Claire, WI.
Jerry made his living as an auto body technician and was a perfectionist in his profession. Jerry loved to travel to various car shows and overlook the old restored vehicles and learn new techniques. His special place each year was the car show in Iola, WI.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Jerry Jr. (Diane) Solfest of Eau Claire and Thomas Solfest of Chippewa Falls, WI. One brother, LaVerne, and two sisters, Irene and Berdell. Six grandchildren; Ryan, Jerry III, Seth, Tyler, Rebecca, and Michael; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sandi, his son Lloyd, daughter Tammy, three brothers, and three sisters.
A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday, October 24th, 2015 from 11am to 1pm at Smith Funeral Chapel, Eau Claire. There will be no burial at this time. Family and friends may leave condolences online at www.smithfuneralec.com.

I’m not even sure what to say…you have all been threw so much lately and I hope you know if there was anyway I could take even some of the pain away I would in a heart beat.
