Janette “Jan” Rennie, 77 of Eau Claire passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Clairemont Nursing Home.
Jan was born on January 4, 1938 to Martin and Janet (Hunter) Rennie in Edinburgh, Scotland. She attended college in France, and while in France, she met her future husband, Richard. Jan married Richard Markham in 1957 in Scotland. She worked at Luther Hospital for many years in housekeeping. Jan enjoyed arts and crafts, working on dollhouses, and loved collecting old things such as Beatles and Mickey Mouse memorabilia.
Jan is survived by her three sons, Martin Markham of Eau Claire, Robert Markham of Eau Claire, and Peter (Anita) Markham of Hickory, NC; six grandchildren, Kelly Deal, Nathan Markham, Chris Markham, Shawn Schneider, Shane Richardson, and Jonathan Markham; three brothers, Burt Rennie, Peter Rennie, and Peter Rennie; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Deal, Jazmynn Deal, and Jalen Deal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Richard Markham Jr.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Chapel with Pastor Richard Sullivan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
