Leone H. Dickerson, 86 of Eau Claire passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 at Our House Memory Care in Eau Claire.

Leone was born on November 20, 1930 to Herman and Alma (Gunderson) Erickson in Strum, Wisconsin.  She attended Eau Claire Senior High School.  Leone married LeRoy Dickerson on November 19, 1949 at St. Patrick’s Church in Eau Claire.  Throughout their 67 years of marriage, they lived in the Eau Claire area creating countless friendships.   Early in her marriage, she sewed clothing for her children, baked cakes for all occasions and was known far and wide for her cooking.   Leone enjoyed many hours at her cottage at Lake Holcombe, pontoon rides, card games with friends and family members.  Leone traveled the world with her husband Roy, visiting Russia, China, Morocco, the Caribbean, and a good portion of the United States.  Leone was active in the St. James Rosary Confraternity, and the Catholic Women’s Club.  She volunteered for many years as a librarian at the St. James School and at Sacred Heart Hospital. 

Leone is survived by her children, Deborah (Bill) Adler of Rochester, MN, Thomas (Suzanne) Dickerson of Augusta, and Louise (Larry) Urness of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Carrie (Richard) Tibor of Rochester, MN, Dan (Jolene) Dickerson of Chippewa Falls, WI, Vanessa (Jon) Strosahl of Eau Claire, Aleisha (Mark) Lutzen of Eau Claire, and Krystal (Christopher) Flores of Baraboo, WI; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Braden, Preston, Lydia, Kyra, Korben, and Revan; and one sister Donna (Ted) Melland of Osseo, WI.

Leone was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Dickerson; grandson, David Adler; and siblings, Gordon (Lucille) Erickson, Arlene (Walt) Radisewitz, and Avis (Thomas “Beans”) Haddeman.

Funeral services will be Friday, November 3, 2017 at 12:00 pm at St. James The Greater Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Krieg officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.  Burial will follow the service at Lakeview Cemetery.
