Mary Lou Davis, 70, of Altoona passed away on Friday, April 13, 2018.

Mary was born to Lawrence and Hazel (Kline) Guthrie on October 11, 1947. She married James Davis on August 14, 1982 in Eau Claire. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed nature and loved spending time outside. She prevailed over her health problems and stayed strong through out her life. Her faith was very important, and she was a member of Birch St. Baptist Church for many years.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Daniel Rieck) Frey; son, William Fritsche; 7 grandchildren: Austin Fritsche, Jonathon Fritsche, Katie Fritsche, Heather Frey, Nicolas Klukas, Isabella Reyes, and James Rieck; sisters, Judy (Terry) Gatewood, Shirley (Darrel) Wolf, Virginia Guthrie, and Marie Stansbury; brothers, Larry Guthrie, Brent (Julie) Guthrie, Robert Guthrie, and James Guthrie; as well as longtime companion, Thomas Schmidtmeyer.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, James Davis; parents Hazel and Lawrence Guthrie; and sister, Lois Avery Patz.

A memorial service will be held at the Christian Family Center, 8600 Burnell Dr., Eau Claire, WI, at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 21, 2018. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services at the center. Burial will take place at a later date at the Tillinghast Cemetery in New Auburn.
