Richard Dedrickson, 93, of Ladysmith, WI passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 23, 2018. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Maude; sisters, Edna and Marge; and brother Donald.

Richard is survived by his wife and best friend of 70 years Yvonne (Berg) Dedrickson with whom he joined in marriage on Septemeber 14, 1947. Their children: Mark (Linda), Beth (Bob) Sedahl, Susan (Ed) Blanchard, Julie (John) Borgwardt, Brule (Heidi), Gordy (Julie), and Eric. As well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Richard enlisted in the US Navy in 1942 and proudly served in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres in World War II and served until 1946. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the VMA.

Richard had a lifelong appreciation for the great outdoors. He enjoyed trout fishing on the Brule River, rabbit hunting, duck hunting, and most of all the annual deer hunts with his family. He will be sadly missed at all the future deer camps, but Richard’s annual toast will live on “BIGGER and BETTER BUCKS BOYS”.

    Dick, thanks for the great memories my whole family had with you and your extended family at deer camp. I will never forget the “daylight in the swamp” morning wake up call.
