Rose M. Powell, 88 of Eau Claire passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at River Pines Nursing Home in Altoona.

Rose was born on October 18, 1928 to Frank and Rose (Ernest) Petrlik in the Town of Arthur in Chippewa County. She graduated from Chippewa High School in 1946.  Rose worked for a number of years as a waitress, baker, and cook at Wally’s River Chalet.  She also worked at Kopp’s Steak House, Crossroads Café, and Fran’s Supper Club.  Rose enjoyed spending time with her friends at the VFW. She had a passion for flowers and had many hanging baskets around her home. 

Rose is survived by her three children; Roger (Debra) Powell, Allan Powell, and Debbie (Neil) Nelson; grandchildren, Kimari, Kristina, Gina, Bradley, Rodney, and Matthew; and one great-granddaugther, Crystal Powell; and her good friend, Dory.

Rose was preceded in death by her son, Rodney.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the Grace Lutheran Communities-River Pines Nursing Home and Mayo Clinic Home Health and Hospice.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
