Theresa Ann (Steltzner) McManus, age 83, of Altoona, WI passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Oakwood Villa in Altoona, WI.
She was born on January 10, 1933 in Rice Lake, WI, the daughter of August and Cora (Heffelfinger) Steltzner. She married William N. McManus on September 21, 1950 in Pine City, MN. Theresa grew up in Rice Lake, WI, lived a few years in Chippewa Falls then moved to the Elk Mound area where she spent many happy hours on horseback and keeping her many dogs. She was a homemaker, florist and nurse in the Eau Claire area. Her interests included raising and training Morgan horses, being a 4-H leader for horse and dogs projects, avid quilter, a flower and bird enthusiast, along with many other crafts.
She is survived by her children; Patricia Berger, Deb (Don) Bartilson, Michael (Dorene) McManus, and Daniel McManus. Sisters; Leona Fromadder and Loraine Langland; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, and brothers; Louis, Raymond, Clarence, Lawrence, Norman and sisters; Irene, Eleanor, Viola and Lucille.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Bob’s House of Dogs.
Memorial services will be on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be at 2:00 pm at Wayside Cemetery in Barron.
