Obituary For Larry D. Brian
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry D. Brian, 68 of Eau Claire on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire.
Larry was born on November 3, 1956, the youngest of three sons, to Donald and Leona (Reetz) Brian in Eau Claire. In his early years, he enjoyed many cabin and camping trips with his two brothers, Leslie and Vince, cousins, aunts and uncles. His favorite being Shell Lake.
He graduated from Memorial High School in 1974. Later, he attended printing school in Wausau and held various jobs before being employed at Viking electric for over 30 years. He retired in 2017.
Larry married Kelly (Fassbender) in 1996, on his 40th birthday. He was a devoted father to their two children, Hannah and Jeremy, his proudest achievement and greatest role in life. He built his family out of true love, honest moments, and good fun. He was the rock to many of his friends and family, and a master of sarcastic humor and witty timing to others. His love of the outdoors continued to his adult years, ranging from boating, garage ping pong, to his favorite, yard work. When not outside, he was cheering on his children at their sporting events or any Wisconsin sporting team, especially the Brewers and Packers.
Larry was known for many things, most notably his kindness, infectious laughter, and generosity to those around him. He encouraged and practiced presence in the moment, enjoying the simple things in life. Whether he was telling jokes, hosting game nights, or enjoying the perks of early retirement, Larry made every moment unforgettable. He will be remembered for the laughter he brought into this world and the lessons he sought to teach. His warm presence, sense of humor, and unwavering love will never be forgotten.
Larry is survived by his daughter Hannah and son Jeremy, both of Eau Claire, Wi; brothers, Vince (Karen Wichmann) Brian, Leslie (Dayle) Brian, nieces Niki (Brady) Kroll, Emily Bowen; nephews, Aric Brian, Ben (Melanie) Brian, Kevin (Jessica) Brian; cousins, Collin and Addison Kroll, Maggie and Gus Bowen, Abraham, Joel, and Saul.
