Obituary For Inez Mae Dascher

Inez Mae Dascher, after fighting a courageous and brave battle with cancer, was welcomed into Heaven during morning coffee time on Friday, December 12th. Inez was born in 1945 to Werner and Ellen Nordin of Mason, Wisconsin. She grew up witnessing her parents' strong faith in God and selfless service, which deeply influenced her to live a life for Jesus. She married Loren Dascher on January 8th, 1966, in Eau Claire, WI, and they celebrated nearly 60 years of marriage. Inez cherished her family, from the earlier years of camping, fishing, and family vacations to later years of "grandma daycare" for her nephew and grandchildren. Being surrounded by family was most important. She dedicated her life to nurturing her grandchildren, sharing precious moments, and creating lasting memories with them. Her love and devotion enriched their lives, fostering a strong bond and treasured experiences.

Inez cherished the adventures she shared with her sister, Linda. They embarked on memorable road trips that strengthened their sisterly bond and filled their lives with laughter and unforgettable moments. Their visits "up north" visiting relatives were a highlight and offered reconnection, reminiscing, and lots of laughter. Through her time at Kmart, Inez formed enduring connections with her coworkers, cultivating a sense of belonging that extended beyond the workplace.

Inez’s journey of service started within her church and spread to her community. It evolved into a lifelong dedication to selflessly serving others. This love for others led her to help establish a clothing giveaway in October 2010, which blossomed into The King's Closet, a beloved free clothing storefront in downtown Eau Claire. In 2012, she was nominated and received The Jefferson Award for Public Service, honoring "ordinary people doing extraordinary things." Her remarkable generosity and unwavering commitment inspired those around her and left a lasting impact.

Inez's legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and faith, touching countless lives through her service. Inez left an indelible mark on our community. She will be deeply missed, but her impact will continue to inspire others.

Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Werner & Ellen Nordin. She is survived by her husband, Loren; daughters, Kimberly Woerner (Gaylon), Tracy Brown (Dana); grandchildren (Landen Brown, Morgan Brown, Whitney Woerner, Gracie Pickens (Canaan), Reese Woerner, & Phoenix Schook), great grandchildren (Ford Pickens, Indie Mae Pickens, & Willow Mae Woerner); sister, Linda Glenna (David) and nephew, Jordan (Kali, great nephew, Ezra).

Thank you to the wonderful staff and nurses at St. Croix Hospice for the amazing comfort and care you provided.

A funeral for Inez will be held Friday, December 19, 2025, at Smith Funeral Chapel at 12:00 pm. There will be a two-hour visitation prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends and family are welcome to leave online condolences at www.smithfuneralec.com.

I'm so sad to see this: she was such a kind person. May the family know she was so committed to the community and I always enjoyed seeing her during my time donating or looking for families in need. She definitely has her wings. Terri N

Loren and family. I'm so sorry for the loss of Inez. We were neighbors at one time and I got to know Inez through other areas and of course Kmart. She always had a smile for you. Becky Henning
