James Calvert Tullar, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Caretta Senior Living in Eau Claire.

James was born on November 10, 1930, to Miles and Marjorie Tullar in Barron County and grew up on a farm near Chetek, WI. The family later moved to Evansville on the original family farm. James left the farm and moved back to Chetek where he then started his truck driving career. James was drafted into the Korean War where he served two years in the army. He moved to Eau Claire where he met Alice Robinson, they married in 1954. They bought a farm in Brunswick, south of Eau Claire where he lived the remainder of his life until going to memory care.

James is survived by his wife, Alice Tullar of Eau Claire; sons, Miles (Kathy) Tullar of Streator, IL, and Martin (Donna) Tullar of Eau Claire; grandson, Jamie Tullar, and great-grandchildren, Naomi and Miles.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Marjorie; brother, Robert Tullar; and sister, Bette Elmlinger.

A graveside service with military honors and a celebration of life will be held later this year.
