Obituaries

Lisa Marie La Fond, 64, of Stanley, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Reflections at Dove Healthcare – West Eau Claire, with family by her side. She was born on August 31, 1961, to Margaret La Fond in West Allis, Wisconsin. Lisa spent most of her life in West Allis, where she attended Central High School and worked a variety of jobs over the years.

Lisa loved many things in life, most of all, her family. She was an avid video-game fan, a passion so strong that both her mom and later her sister lovingly enforced time limits. Music was another joy for her; from Michael Jackson to ’90s country to classic rock, she always had a stereo nearby and once kept an impressive tape collection. She had a soft spot for animals and adored cuddling any small dog or cat she could. Lisa also enjoyed puzzles, anything tie-dyed and swimming, a pastime she cherished. She was always up for jokes and banter—especially if it involved teasing about “hot men.”

After her mother passed, her sister devoted herself to caring for her for many years. When Lisa’s needs eventually grew beyond what could be managed at her sister’s home, she moved to a couple care homes around La Crosse before being placed in Stanley, in a home equipped to take care of her needs. She will be deeply missed by her family and by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her siblings: Jeff (Aida) La Fond, Kris (Catherine) La Fond, Teresa (David) Kelber, and Katie La Fond; as well as her Aunt Mary, cousins, and several nieces, nephews, and their children.

She was preceded in death by her beloved mother- Margaret La Fond; her brother, Eric La Fond; her niece, Melissa Kelber; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
