Peter A. Netzel born November 30, 1960. On May 6, 2026, he sadly passed away at HomePlace in Stanley, Wi.

Peter was born to Eugene and Ruth Netzel (Lemke) in Park Falls, Wi.

After Peter finished high school he joined the US Army in 1979-1982 then returned to Wi. He lived in La Crosse, Wi and worked for a time in the Rubber Mills. In 1985 he met and married Ruth Olson. He became a father in 1987 to his daughter Delaine. In the early 1990’s Peter and Ruth dissolved their marriage. Several years later he married his second wife Deb where they both moved to Billings, MT. Peter worked as a houseman for a hotel and drove a tourist shuttle to and from the airport. While in Billings, Peter began writing down his experiences relating to his personal hobby, Metal Detecting. He was proud to be known for being the first to find a solid gold American minted coin. He then began publishing books on treasure hunting and ghost towns with colorful characters who lived in those areas. He published over 20 books. He also had a YouTube channel called “TiredMan” where he told some of the stories from his own books.

Peter is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Ruth Netzel; his brother, Jack; his second wife, Deb; and his nephew Josh.

Peter is survived by his daughter, Delaine (Savanna) Netzel; his grandchildren, Sam and Gladys; his sisters, Lisa and Diane; and a brother, David.

Peter’s ashes will be placed at the Nola Cemetery in Park Falls, WI.
He will be greatly missed and Until We Meet Again……
