Obituary For Annette Louise Olson

Annette Louise Olson, 94, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on February 22, 1932, in Eau Claire to Andrew and Martha Blumlein, Annette grew up on the city’s north side and attended 10th Ward School, Eau Claire Junior High, and Eau Claire Senior High School, graduating with the Class of 1950. In 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Aubrey Olson, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted 63 years.

Annette was an avid and accomplished golfer, proudly achieving three hole‑in‑ones over her lifetime. She spent more than 50 years golfing in leagues at Lake Hallie Golf Course and Princeton Valley Golf Course, where she formed many lasting friendships. She also loved playing cards and remained active in several card clubs well into her 90s.

Family was the heart of Annette’s life. She found joy in cooking and baking for those she loved—often preparing three desserts for every gathering. Her cinnamon rolls, in particular, became a cherished family tradition and will be deeply missed.

Annette is survived by her children, Allen (Tamara) Olson of Sheboygan Falls, WI, and Sue Tiry of Rockland, WI; her grandchildren, Travis (Jessica Gruenke) Olson of Plymouth, WI, and Anna (Nick) Listwan of Menomonee Falls, WI; and her great‑grandchildren, Anja Olson, Maggie Listwan, and Jack Listwan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her in‑laws; her beloved husband, Aubrey; and her sister and brother‑in‑law, Dorothey “Dot” and Rolland “Buster”Olufson.

Annette will be remembered for her warmth, her generosity, her competitive spirit on the golf course, and the way she made every family gathering feel special. Her legacy lives on in the traditions she created and the love she shared so freely.

A private family service will be held at a later date, allowing those closest to Annette to gather, reflect, and honor her life in the way she cherished most—together.
