Obituaries

Arlene E. Ott, 97, passed away October 13, 2023, at American Lutheran Home in Mondovi, WI. Arlene was born October 9, 1926, in Bennett Valley to Arne and Marie Rene. On November 24, 1946, she married Gerhart Sell. They had four children, Ella, Gary, Mary, and Judy. Gerhart passed away in 1978. In 1988 she married Cecil Morse; he passed away in 1992. In 1995 she married Roy Ott; he passed away in 2009.

Arlene enjoyed polka dancing, quilting, gardening, and collecting jewelry. She is survived by her daughters, Ella Huttner; Mary (Jack) Luer; and Judy (Mike) McCann. She’s further survived by 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren with one on the way, and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene is preceded in death by her 3 husbands; son, Gary Sell; siblings, Arne (Vonnie) Renz; Elsie Rene; Floyd (Mavis) Rene; Carol (Myron) Pehlke; Yvonne (Calvin) Lombard; and Roy Rene; great-grandchildren, Devin McCann and Alexandra McCann.

The family would like to thank the staff at American Lutheran Home for the great care she received, along with Pastor Gary Preston, St. Croix Hospice, and all the well wishes.

A service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Smith Funeral Chapel at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at St. Paul Cemetery.
