Obituary For Beatrice A. Larson

Beatrice (Bea) A. Larson, age 91, of Altoona, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Mayo Health Systems, with her family beside her.

Bea was a wonderful MOM to Howi (LoAnn), Carolyn, Jacqui, Linda and Wayne. She enjoyed her grandchildren, Dirk, Merica, Branden, Joe, Tony, Hunter and Jazlin and her 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She always had little treats for them.

Preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Theodore (Ted) Larson; grand-daughter, Vanessa Rossano; parents, Howard and Olga Bates; sister, Betty Borofka; and brother, David Bates.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret (Clyde) Kerr; and brothers, Ernie (Geri) Bates and Lee (Mary) Bates; and many nieces and nephews. She is greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Bea could work wonders in any kitchen and didn't always need a recipe. She worked in the kitchen at Fall Creek Valley Nursing Home for 25+ years and residents look forward to and remarked they knew when Bea was doing the cooking.

A public Memorial service will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI or Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements being handled by Smith Funeral Chapel, Eau Claire, WI.

In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations be made to the Lake Steet Stampers at Lake Street United Methodist Church, 337 Lake St, Eau Claire, WI 54703. Bea enjoyed receiving the many specialty cards throughout the years and proudly displayed them.

We would like to invite family and friends that are unable to attend today's service, to join us virtually by clicking the link below.

Dear Linda & Branden, Unfortunately, we will be out of town & unable to attend Bea's memorial service but wanted to let you know what a wonderful lady she was. We spent many evenings in the stands watching Fall Creek football games with both Ted & Bea. We are sorry for your loss & will fondly remember her! John & Lynn Gunderson
