Obituary For Bennett I. Green

Bennett “Ben” I. Green, 88 of Fall Creek passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Marshfield Medical Center-Eau Claire.

Ben was born on November 4, 1935, the middle child of Ira and Angeline (Miescke) Green in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fall Creek. Ben graduated in 1953 from Fall Creek High School. After high school, he joined the United States Army. Ben worked at the papermill in Eau Claire for many years. Ben was a snowbird in Florida. He was active at his church in Florida as an usher and an elder. Ben enjoyed hosting family reunions every 4th of July weekend and Labor Day weekend. He loved spending time with his family. He also loved getting together with his Hodag family. Ben enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially up North at his cabin that he built with his friend, Buck.

Ben is survived by his best friend and companion, Deb Burfield of Fall Creek; brother, Thomas (Marlene) Green of Madison; sister, Shirley (Gene) Rovang of Fall Creek; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces; children, Cheryl (Jay) Maloney of Eleva, Kathy (Kenny) Clark of Strum and Bradley Green; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, and precious daughter, Judy Green.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. James Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Justin Arnold officiating. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.smithfuneralec.com.
