Obituary For Carol Rae Kruger

Carol Rae Kruger, 79, of Eau Claire passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, with her family by her side.

Carol was born to Glennace Johnson on August 15, 1944, in Solon Springs. She was raised in Modena and Gilmanton, WI on family farms. After graduating from Gilmanton High School she moved to Eau Claire and met her husband, Darrell. They married in 1968 and had their son, Branden.

Carol worked for Cray Research and enjoyed international travel through her position. She had a love for pets, birdwatching, and playing solitaire on the computer. She made sure she won every game. She enjoyed early retirement and spending time with her granddaughters, as well as her great grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her son, Branden (Jodi) Kruger; granddaughters, Lexi (Dylin) Steinke and Ariah Kruger; great-grandchildren, Oakley and Eliana; and sister, Julie Heiden, beloved cousins Elaine (Bill) Bethke, and Judy Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Kruger; her parents, Glennace (Charlie) Johnson, Aunt Josephine, and Uncle Jack (Helen) Johnson.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, October 9th, 2023, at Smith Funeral Chapel at 12:00pm. A visitation will take place two hours before the service at the funeral home. An inurnment will follow the family’s luncheon at Rest Haven Cemetery. Condolences may be left online.
