Obituary For Dawn Marie Pierce

Dawn Marie (Snyder) Pierce died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on April 17, 2026, in Eau Claire at age 72.

Dawn was born on January 6, 1954, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to parents Wayne “Bill” William Snyder and Charlotte Marie Comstock.

Dawn was raised by her mother in her family of ten children. Dawn didn't talk a lot but when she did it was in a quiet voice that belied her strength, determination and courage. Dawn was a rock, solid in her convictions and in her beliefs. She was greatly admired by all who knew her. Dawn was smart, kind; and generous with her time. Dawn was a giver not a taker. Dawn was as honest as the day is long, she was forthright and fiercely loyal to those she loved. Prior to her illness, Dawn enjoyed quilting & she shared many of her beautiful quilts with family members. She also enjoyed crocheting, baking, reading, politics, listening to music and most of all spending time with her loved ones.

Dawn married her life partner, Frank William Pierce on May 19, 1978, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. They were together until Frank’s passing on March 16, 2018. Dawn and Frank had 3 children together who they dearly loved, Austin, Nathan (Megan) and her daughter, Amanda (Heath) who was also her caregiver for the past 5 years. Dawn and Frank also have 6 grandchildren, Emilea, Holden, Kacen, twins Derek and Sara; and, Shaylee.

Dawn is survived by her children, her grandchildren and her siblings, Rebecca (Becky), Hope, Wendy (Jeff), Kenny (Julie,) Joe and Julie. She is further survived by her step-children, Gretchen, Cindy, Shelley, Christy and Mitch and their children.

Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her mother; her siblings, Vicky, Wayne (Butch,) and Kirk; by her maternal grandparents, Horace & Nellie (Stevens) Comstock; and her paternal grandparents, Dewey and Nora (Ross) Snyder. Also by her father, Bill Snyder.

Dawn was a silent warrior who simultaneously fought memory loss, Diabetes and cancer, all the while maintaining her indomitable spirit. Rest easy Dawn, your hard journey is over. You are loved by all and will be forever missed.

A memorial service for Dawn will be held on May 14, 2026, at Cornerstone Church, 310 W. Polk Ave., Eau Claire, Wisconsin, 54701.Visitation will be held an hour before the service at 11:00 a.m. followed by the service at 12:00 Noon with luncheon to follow.
