Obituary For Mandi Jo Krenzelok

Mandi Jo Krenzelok, 45, of Bloomer passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Bloomer.

Mandi was born to Larry and Pamela (Mann) Strasburg on October 17, 1978 in Eau Claire. She grew up in Fall Creek, WI on the family farm. Mandi was the oldest of 6 siblings, which was a role that came naturally to her. She was the best, plain and simple. She graduated from Fall Creek High School and married Seth Thomas and had 3 children. After several years of marriage, she then met and married Jesse Krenzelok and moved to Bloomer. She was a devoted and loving wife and mother, putting all of her energy and work ethic developed from working on her father’s farm as a girl into everything she did. Professionally, Mandi was a mother first, and remained home with the children as they went through Elementary and into middle school. She was a manager at Fazoli’s for several years; she also worked at a few local businesses in Bloomer before finding a great place to work at Bloomer Bakery, where she was well-known and loved by the customers, and returned the favor of being a homemaker by nursing her husband back to health after a near-fatal car accident. Family was everything to Mandi. She was always making plans for not only their family, but also about how their family could best help the community they lived in and loved. Mandi was genuine and kind. She doted on her family, pets, and even the local wildlife, maintaining several bird feeders and feeding the squirrels and bunnies in the backyard, and loved the outdoors, often preferring to go out hiking with her husband. Fiercely independent and absolutely fearless, she had a “spooky” disposition that sometimes intimidated people, much like the character Wednesday Addams that she and her husband used to create a home life that was always interesting and fun, full of ghost stories, art and a “haunted house” vibe that masked a dear and gentle heart of 24-karat gold like camouflage, and she will be forever loved and dearly missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mandi is survived by her husband, Jesse Krenzelok; son, Ethan Thomas; daughters, Emma Thomas, and Jenna Thomas; brothers, Zach (Katie Prudhom) Strasburg, AJ Strasburg, and Ian Helding; sisters, Julia Strasburg, Kassia Strasburg, and Samantha Strasburg.

She is proceeded in death by her parents; grandparents; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 7 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a college fund set up for Emma and Jenna Thomas. Condolences may be left online at www.smithfuneralec.com.

Oh Mandi I'm so sad to hear the news of your passing. You worked for me for to many years at Fazoli's. I remember when you were pregnant with Ethan and then Emma. One of the best managers. We shared a lot of great stories and I truly enjoyed your friendship. You have 3 beautiful children and they will continue to honor you. Rest Easy Beautiful... Love Tonya McCullum Orlando Fl.

To: Julia, Kassia, Samantha, Zach, AJ, & Ian We were so saddened to read about Mandi's passing. Both of us fondly remember having all of you in our class and are so sorry for the loss of your sister. Mandi was such a nice girl and we're sure, a wonderful mother! We would have definitely attended the funeral in order to see all of you but, unfortunately, we are out of the area and therefore unable to attend but wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you!
