Obituary For Muriel June Baumgarten

Muriel June Baumgarten, 98, of Eau Claire, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Dove Healthcare West.

Muriel was born to Merle and Myrtie (Rosman) Bunce on August 1, 1925, in Eau Claire. Muriel is the youngest of 5 siblings. She married Ernest Baumgarten in Rockford Illinois and had 2 children, Janice and Dale. She enjoyed being the Robins Hustlers 4-H Leader and attending ski competitions. Crafting was an important part of her life. Handmade items like dishrags, scrubbies, dish towels, pajamas or aprons were always under the tree at Christmas. She always cared for her family and the residents at the Center of Care and Mt. Washington Home. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling with her sister Ivagene and friends. In her later years, visits from family and friends were very special to her. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and caregivers.

Muriel is survived by her daughter, Janice (Donald) Hanson; son, Dale (Darlene) Baumgarten; grandchildren, Dawn (Robert) Wachs, Sara (Aaron) Berg, Jeff (Amy) Baumgarten, Mark (Kerry) Hanson, Kara (Chris) Wensink, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Merle and Myrtie Bunce; husband, Ernest “Ernie”, sisters, Ivagene “Iva” (Obert) Kleven, Marcille “Marce” (Clifford) Powers, Ardis “Ardy” (Vernon) Powers; brother, La Moine (Alvina) Bunce.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Trinity Lutheran Church at 12:00 pm. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow a luncheon at Lakeview Cemetery.
