Obituary For Patricia Ann Prissel

Patricia Ann Prissel, age 93, of Durand, died peacefully Friday, February 27, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Prairie Point Assisted Living Facility, in Altoona, with her family by her side.

Patricia was born on December 2nd, 1932. She was the daughter of William and Verena (Kothbauer) Komro. Patricia grew up in the Town of Lima in rural Pepin County. Patricia married Bruce Prissel on July 6th, 1953, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lima.

After marriage they moved to Vancouver, Washington, to be with his family for a couple of years before moving to Durand. They then purchased a farm on Hwy 85 where they farmed and raised their family.

Patricia worked hard on the farm while raising her family. She loved vegetable gardening and canning to provide for the family and enjoyed attending to her many flower gardens.

Patricia is survived by her children, Gary (Karen) of Tennessee, Greg (Kathy) of Durand, Sonja (Paul) Hanson of Missouri, Tamara (Henry) Zold of Menomonie, Tina (Kevin) Hampton of Eau Claire, Todd (Jen) of Minnesota, Dawn (Steve) Thompson of Texas; 16 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; siblings, William (Pat) Jr. of Eau Claire, Jim (Millie) of Indiana, Don (Joe) of Minnesota, Robert (Roberta) of Hayward, and Mike (Jan) Peterson of South Carolina.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bruce; son, Patrick; parents, William and Verena Komro; stepmother, Lorraine Komro; and siblings, Dorthy Forsythe, Jack Komro, Jerry Komro, Rick Komro, and Cindy Peterson.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church – Lima in Durand at 11:30 am. A visitation will begin at 11:00 am. Smith Funeral Chapel of Eau Claire is serving the family. Friends and family are welcome to leave online condolences at www.smithfuneralec.com
