Shirley Luella Meier, 86, of Eau Claire passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, surrounded by family at Dove Healthcare - South.

Shirley was born on December 24, 1937, to Clement and Lillian Eddy (Lewis) in Cook, Minnesota. They moved to Eau Claire in 1951. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High. In 1956, Shirley married Duane C. Meier from which six children were born. Leo (Nancy) Meier, Corinne (Dale) Mayer, Michele (Michael) Ganong, Eric (Sandy) Meier, Christine (Charles) Luedtke, Daniel (Lisa) Meier. Shirley had 19 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren with another 2 great grandchildren on the way. She was also survived by her devoted sister Judith Luedtke along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Duane (Dewey), her parents, her daughter Michele (Meier) Ganong, a granddaughter Amber Mayer, great grandson Gage Laper, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, 5 brother-in-laws and 2 sister-in-laws.

The visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 4th, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Reach Church located at 1505 Cameron Street in Eau Claire. A visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will take place following the service at Oak Grove Cemetery. A luncheon will be offered after the burial at Reach Church.
