I would like to send my sympathies to all friends and family of my Aunt Lotus. She was my Dad Walt’s sister and the last of her family. What an incredible lady and a tremendous life. I still have copies of her wonderful Christmas letters which I will cherish. I will also remember how she would call me and reminisce about my Dad. To all of you, my blessings. Harry and Lotus were friends of my grand parents, Dwight and Beth Swanson. I always enjoyed when they were in town visiting. The last time I recall Lotus being here was for a party at my house about 20 years ago. We all sat around a campfire and enjoyed the stories and laughing.
So sorry to hear about Lotus. Harry and Lotus were good friends of my grandparents, Beth and Dwight Swanson and like having a bonus set of grandparents. So many fun memories of them. She will be missed.
Hello, friends and family of Lotus Mooney. My parents, Helen and Bill Frederick, lived near Lotus and Harry when my family moved to Eau Claire right after by parents got married…back in about 1950. Bill and Harry were in the local camera club together and the four of them kept in touch for a long, long time. Whereas my mother, Helen, passed away in 2006 and Bill two years ago, I had talked with Lotus around her birthday every year. And I didn’t know until just now – on the eve of her 102nd birthday that she had passed away. I so admired her and her resilience, strenght, good humor and simply amazing set of skills and independence. One of the last times I visited her in Eau Claire (just before she had to leave her home) she was digging up Jerusalem artichokes in the garden and sent me home with a big bag of them. What a woman. I am glad she had a long and adventuresome life and I hope she lives on in many peoples’ memories.
