Marion Larson, age 92, of Eau Claire passed away on May 28, 2016 at her home. Marion was born on October 4th, 1923 in Manitowoc, WI, the daughter of Otto and Martha Hein. She married Jalmer Wayne Larson on June 4th 1944 in Amarillo, TX.
Marion was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she loved to sing with the choir. She showed her love for people in the numerous organizations in which she participated, including as President of the Eau Claire Women’s Club, Senior Regent for the Women of the Moose, and as Secretary of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Shrine where she knitted over 100 stocking hats for children at the Shrine Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. In earlier years Marion was a great seamstress, an active Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and loved camping and fishing in Canada with her family.
She was preceded in death by her son David and Brother Gordon.
Marion is survived by her husband Wayne, Sister Gladys Jeffery, sons Larry (Darlene) and Stephen (Kay), grandchildren (David’s Sons) Fred Lafley, Aaron and Matt Larson, and (Larry’s Children) Brian (Judy) Larson, Cynthia (Adam) Llewellyn and many Great Grand Children and a great great granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held on what would have been Wayne and Marion’s 72nd wedding anniversary, Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 AM at Saving Grace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. A visitation will take place one hour prior to services at the church.
Thinking of all of Marion’s family and sending our sincere sympathy. Will always remember her wonderful laugh and smile. Will not be able to attend her memorial service but will be thinking of you at this tender time in life.
