GENERAL PRICE LIST

The goods and services shown below are those we provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected. Professional Services Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, and overhead:             $2,595
This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. This fee includes but is not limited to the following: staff respond to initial request for service all hours of the day; arrangement conference with family or responsible party; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notices; staff assistance prior to, during, and following the funeral or memorial service. This fee also covers overhead expenses relative to our facility such as insurance, employee wages and benefits, maintenance, utility expenses, administrative costs, equipment, and inventory cost. This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremation, immediate burial, forwarding remains to another funeral home, and receiving remains from another funeral home.

 

Embalming:             $875
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation, immediate burial, or a closed casket service without a viewing or visitation.

 

Other Preparation of Deceased:             $375
This fee includes one or more of the following: dressing the deceased, casketing the deceased, hair styling, and cosmetics as needed.

 

Embalming of Autopsied Remains (Additional):             $400
This fee includes special care for autopsied remains prior to viewing the deceased.

 

Restoration:             Per Hour $225

 

Refrigeration:             $200/$75 Per Day
Our policy requires all un-embalmed bodies to be refrigerated. We have an initial charge for the first seven days, which is adequate in most cases. If we are unable to schedule cremation, due to waiting for authorization from the next of kin, charges will begin from the seventh day in our care.

 

Cremation:             $500

 

Visitation:             $475
Our services include set-up of the visitation area, placement of casketed remains or cremated remains, display of floral arrangements, staff to attend visitation from two to four hours prior to the service or evening before. If additional visitation time is desired add $100.00 per hour.

 

Visitation One Hour Prior to Services:             $350
Our services include set-up of visitation area, placement of casketed remains or cremated remains, display of floral arrangements, staff to attend visitation for one hour prior to memorial or funeral services.

 

Funeral Service:             $575
Our services include coordinating with the church or clergy, setting up of the service area, staff to attend the funeral ceremony, and placement of the casketed remains.

 

Memorial Service:             $425
Our services include coordinating with the church or clergy, setting up of the service area, staff to attend the memorial service, and placement of the cremated remains.

 

Graveside Service of Casketed Remains:             $525
Our services include accompaniment of casketed remains to the cemetery, staff to attend graveside service, and coordination with clergy for graveside ceremony.

 

Graveside Service of Cremated Remains:             $375
Our services include accompaniment of cremated remains to the cemetery, staff to attend graveside service, and coordination with clergy for graveside ceremony.

 

Saturday Service Charge:             $400

Sunday Service Charge:             $500

Holiday Service Charge:             $600

 

Forwarding Remains to Another Funeral Home:             $2,870
This charge includes removal of remains, necessary services of the funeral director and staff, embalming, necessary authorizations, air tray, and local transportation to the airport.

 

Receiving Remains from Another Funeral Home:             $2,095
This charge includes transportation of remains to the funeral home, temporary shelter of remains, necessary services of the funeral director and staff, and coordination with clergy for graveside ceremony.

 

Immediate Burial/ Green Burial

Casket provided by purchaser:             $2,540
Casket selected from our funeral home (plus cost of casket):             $2,540
Our charge for an immediate burial, without any attendant rites or ceremonies, includes transfer of remains to the funeral home, shelter of remains, local transportation to the cemetery, basic services of funeral director and staff, and authorizations. This charge is in addition to the casket or shroud selected from our funeral home.

 

Donation to Medical School:             $1,495
There is no charge from medical school for tissue, organ, or body donation. However, donation teams require involvement from a funeral home. This charge includes the transfer of remains to the funeral home, sheltering of remains, refrigeration, coordinating with the medical school, and filing of necessary documents/permits.

 

Transportation:                    Any transfer beyond 20 miles will add an additional $2.50 per mile.

Transfer of Remains to Funeral Home:             $300
This fee includes transfer of deceased from place of death to the funeral home.

  • Additional person required for removal.             $100

 

Hearse:             $275
This service includes transportation of the casketed remains to the church or cemetery.

 

Lead Vehicle:             $250
This service includes transportation of the clergy to the cemetery. This vehicle will lead the funeral procession.

 

Drop Off/Pick Up:             $300
This service includes local transportation of casketed remains to church/cemetery for viewing/visitation and return transportation to the funeral home after the viewing/visitation. After-hours charges will incur an additional $100, after hours are between 8 pm – 8 am. If additional people are required for transport, an additional $100 charge per person.

A complete price list will be provided at the funeral home. Caskets chosen outside of the display room may vary in price. Smith Funeral Chapel is not held liable for caskets from third party vendors. Responsible parties will be required to sign a liability waiver for third party containers before any services take place.

 

Outer Burial Containers:              $2,395 to $14,965
A complete price list will be provided at the funeral home. Outer burial containers chosen outside of the display room may vary in price.

 

Rental Cremation Urn:              $150

Memorial Packages:             $200 to $250
Complete memorial package price lists are provided at the funeral home upon request. Includes Register Book, up to 100 Memorial Folders and 50 Thank You cards.

Thank You Cards:             $25 per box

Memorial Folders:              $100 per 100 cards

Register Books:             $50/$75/$100

Memorial Video:             $95/$10
Up to 75 photos included an additional charge of $10.00 for each 4-gigabyte flash drive.

 

Diner Rental:             $500
Use of facilities and equipment; Serving staff provided for luncheons to help with set up, serving, tear down and clean-up.

 

Cleaning Fee:             $500
Any excess cleaning needed over the average 6 hours weekly.

 

Mailing of Cremated Remains:             $125

Mailing of Death Certificates:              $40

Traditional Burial:             Starting at $8,315
Includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, transfer of remains to the funeral home, embalming, other preparation, 20g non -gasketed casket (selection of 5 colors), one hour visitation, funeral ceremony at our chapel or your church, procession to the cemetery and staff attendance for the graveside service.

Traditional Service with Cremation:             Starting at $6,735
Includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, transfer of remains to the funeral home, embalming, other preparation, oak casket rental, one hour visitation and funeral ceremony at our chapel or your church.

Cremation with Memorial Service:             Starting at $4,370
Includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, transfer of remains to the funeral home, cremation, one hour visitation and funeral ceremony at our chapel or your church.

Direct Cremation:             $1,995 (container provided by purchaser or alternative container)

Direct Cremation In Casket:             $1,995 (Plus the cost of the casket from our funeral home)
Our charge for a direct cremation without any attendant rites or ceremonies includes basic services of the funeral director and staff, transfer of remains to the crematory, cremation, cremation container, and issuing of the cremation certificate. This charge includes an optional family viewing of the deceased. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard, or composition materials (with or without a covering). The containers we provide are made of cardboard.
