Obituary For Anne Marie Munro (Nardecchia)

Anne Marie Munro (Nardecchia), AnneMi, Mom, Grandma, Alice, Nanerie, hung up her “Don’t Lose Me” hat after a joyful lifetime of coffee and cigarettes, on September 19, 2025. She was ruler over a kingdom of spiral notebooks filled with lists and future projects. She believed any problem could be solved with a pencil, paintbrush, ruler or screwdriver.

Born June 2, 1958, in New York, and subsequently of Indiana, London, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Texas, Iowa, Disney World and finally, Wisconsin. She was 7 pounds of dirt by the time she was 7 and encouraged every child through the same fearless opportunity. She loved dog noses and greeting cards. Anne claimed her favorite meal was spaghetti with garlic and oil, but we know it was actually “Wake Up Cake” for breakfast.

An artist and “Jack of All Trades”: master knitter, quilter, weaver, gardener, painter, production manager, set and mural designer, volunteer coordinator, renovation specialist, accountant and barista. She was a master of meeting people where they were and making them feel like the most important person in her orbit.

Proceeded in death by Curtis, her imaginary son–buried in the back yard, to teach her progeny lessons; Alfred and Jeanne Nardecchia, her parents; and Donald and Elizabeth Munro, who loved her better than a daughter.

Anne is survived by her son, Torin Munro; daughter Betsy (Clinton); and grandchildren Duncan & Loki Jeffrey. She will be remembered by several long-time lovers who will never be the same.

In lieu of flowers, please consider taking yourself for a good cup of coffee, glass of wine, or tickets to a local game. Online condolences may be left for the family.

I met Anne in Ms Finigan' s French class at RHS in 1972. We became instant friends. We got into occasional trouble for laughing and giggles about....well, nothing. Our paths crossed sporadically through the years. I will alwways remember her social spirit and smile when I do. Bye, Anne

The world is not as bright without Anne. I first met Anne when Andy took my place at MCI. We clicked, so I thought we should travel from Virginia to Wiley, TX to meet the whole famn damily. When we arrived, most of Tom Brand's group was there, Torin was toddling around in diapers, Bets was dashing around in cowboy boots, and Anne was effortlessly conducting the chaos while greeting everyone. We immediately felt welcome and in love with Anne. Carl and I had not been married long, which Anne defined as not having farted in front of each other. The move to Iowa had us doing sleepovers because of the distance between Mechanicsville and Fairfield. I always loved seeing Anne's latest project to further personalize the house. When business took us Telegroupies out of town I encouraged Carl to have a date with Anne and usually Torin since Betsy was getting to the age of building her own place in the world. They had a great time and it made me happy to have Carl with warm caring people with lively minds. So many wonderful times. Their memory will always be cherished.

Ever since she was Caiaphas to my Jesus in 6th grade - and even before - I knew we were destined to always be soul friends. Sadly, almost all of our relationship was long distance - but deep anyway. A magnificent human. Sending good wishes and glad tidings to all her family and friends. Blessings upon you - as I'm sure you are to everyone in your lives.

Anne (aka Alice) found me during a very rough time in my life. She couldn't have arrived at a better time. She and I shared many laughs and coffees. I will be forever grateful for those times. I will always remember her kindness, her laugh, and delightful irreverence for almost anything. My deepest sympathies to her family. May her memory be eternal.

I have never met anyone like Anne, she truly was the life of the party everytime she entered a room. Through the years we have traveled, made so much art, and most importantly became the best of friends. I will truly never meet someone as spectacular as her ever again. My condolences to the whole family it's hard losing one of the brightest lights the world has ever given.

This woman moved into my orbit and I immediately knew, God sent me the sister I always wanted. Hilarious, kind, loved a good joke. We had many adventures, including "Women with Tools" an imaginary company we invented so we could go out and play with power tools together. She was amazing and I shall miss her until I can join her across the bridge to a better tomorrow. I.love.you.bye.mawaw
