Four starting points
Most families land on one of these four. Every package starts with the work every arrangement needs — our basic services of funeral director and staff are $2,595, and they are already figured into each price below.
Traditional Burial
- Basic services of our funeral director and staff
- Transfer of remains to the funeral home
- Embalming and other preparation
- A 20-gauge non-gasketed casket, in your choice of 5 colors
- One hour of visitation before the service
- Funeral ceremony at our chapel or your church, procession to the cemetery, and staff at the graveside service
What commonly adds to it: a different casket (ours run $2,095–$9,395), an outer burial container if the cemetery requires one, and the cemetery's own charges.
Traditional Service with Cremation
- Basic services of our funeral director and staff
- Transfer of remains to the funeral home
- Embalming and other preparation
- An oak rental casket for the visitation and service
- One hour of visitation and the funeral ceremony at our chapel or your church
- Cremation at our own crematory, here in Eau Claire
What commonly adds to it: an urn for the cremated remains (ours run $49–$2,219), the county cremation permit and medical examiner's fee, and a weekend service charge if you choose a Saturday or Sunday.
Cremation with Memorial Service
- Basic services of our funeral director and staff
- Transfer of remains to the funeral home
- Cremation at our own crematory, here in Eau Claire
- One hour of visitation
- A memorial service at our chapel or your church
What commonly adds to it: an urn, the county cremation permit and medical examiner's fee, and memorial stationery for the service.
Direct Cremation
- Basic services of our funeral director and staff
- Transfer of remains to the funeral home
- Refrigeration while arrangements are made
- Cremation — the $700 cremation fee is included
- A cremation container and the cremation certificate
- An optional family viewing of your loved one
What commonly adds to it: the county cremation permit ($201.82 in Eau Claire County) and medical examiner's fee ($134.54), an urn if you wish, and certified copies of the death certificate.

What changes the total
Three things move a funeral's cost off its starting point. None of them should come as a surprise, so here they are up front.
The casket, container & urn
Caskets run $2,095–$9,395, and the choice is yours — our complete casket price list is published here in full — read it online or download it — and our Showroom shows photos of the range. Outer burial containers run $2,265–$20,195 (many cemeteries require one). Cremation urns run $49–$2,219, and urn vaults $665–$2,695.
Charges set by others
Some costs are not ours: cemetery charges, flowers, and newspaper obituary notices are set by the cemetery, the florist, and the paper. For cremation, the county adds its own fees — in Eau Claire County, a cremation permit of $201.82 and a medical examiner's fee of $134.54; both vary by county. We collect these on your behalf as part of the arrangements.
When, and what else
A Saturday service adds $500, a Sunday $600, a holiday $800. Extra visitation time is $100 per hour, and refrigeration beyond the first week is $75 per day. A memorial video is $300, and a luncheon in Agnes' Dining Hall is $500 with our serving staff.

You may choose only the items you desire — any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead, and if legal or other requirements mean you must buy any item you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on your statement. Every family receives this full list before making selections.
