Allen James Harrison, 82, passed into the Eternal Afterlife Tuesday, February 28, 2017 after a prolonged illness, with two loving daughters by his side.
He was the loving son of the late Steven and Eleanor Harrison. He was born February 4, 1935, in Menomonie Wisconsin and raised on the family farm in Elk Mound. He graduated from Elk Mound High School in 1952. Allen married his loving wife Audrey on September 22, 1965 in Stillwater Minnesota. Allen, along with his wife and their children, operated one of the family farms in Elk Mound from 1965 to 2005. For a time, Allen owned a small grocery store. He also worked at the local Paper Mill. After farming, Allen established and operated a contracting business doing general construction work.
Allen took special care of his beloved wife Audrey during her battle with a prolonged illness, and was deeply saddened by her passing.
Allen was preceded in death by his wife Audrey, their infant son Todd, grandchildren Jamie, Joshua and Dallas James, Sister Joan Zier, parents Steven and Eleanor as well as Audrey’s parents, Leroy and Evelyn Arneson.
He is survived by his children, Lori (Mark) Fisher, Aubrey (Shannon) Harrison, Kathy (Mike) Heller, Pamela (Doug) Gane, Sheryl Flug, Brenda Harrison (Ed Biggerstaff). Doug (Paula) Sessions, Ann (Bob) Myers, Cole Sessions and Elizabeth Wallace; as well as siblings, Virginia (Luther) Grohn, Arlis (David) Larson, and Steven (Janice) Harrison, and Larry Zier. He is also survived by numerous Grand Children, Great Grand Children, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 6th, 2017 at 1:00pm at Smith Funeral Chapel with Pastor Gordy Thorpe officiating. A visitation will take place on Sunday, March 5th, 2017 from 3:00 – 6:00 pm at the funeral home as well as one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Elk Mound at a later date. Friends and family may leave condolences online at www.smithfuneralec.com.
