Barbara “Barbie” Jean Stevens, 56 of Eau Claire passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

She was born on January 21, 1962 in Mondovi to Archie and Carol (Larson) Erickson. She graduated from Mondovi High School in 1980. Barbie was married to Larry Stevens on Febuary 14, 1995 and to this union was born a wonderful, loving daughter Larame. She was the light of Barbie’s life.

Barbie enjoyed living life to the fullest. Especially her job at Dove Healthcare West. She made many friends with her infectious laugh and kind heart.

Barbie will be deeply missed by her daughter Larame Carol Stevens of Eau Claire; fiancé JR Swenstad of Eau Claire; mother Carol Erickson of Eleva; brothers: Michael (Dobber) Erickson of Whitehall and Mark (Cathy) Erickson of DeForest; sisters: Sue (Roger) Leirmo of Mondovi, JoAnn (Chad) Franz of Mondovi, Mary Krueger of Eau Claire. She is further survived by her beloved pets Randi and Kitty, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Barbie was preceded in death by her husband Larry, father Archie and grandparents.

Family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Dove Healthcare West.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Smith Funeral Chapel (2222 London Road, Eau Claire) on Friday, July 13, 2018 at 4:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00. Family and friends are encouraged to wear Green Bay Packer apparel in memory of Barbie. Online condolences may be left at www.smithfuneralec.com.

Just know she is no longer suffering and be grateful that she is at peace. JR, you have many friends to help you get through this difficult time. Lean on them as much as you need to.   4. I see that smile in Barb’s photo and that is how I remember her. Always smiling and laughing. I will miss her. She had a kind soul.
