He finished high school in 1979. Cal was united in marriage to Betty Ann Cooley in 1981. From this union their son, Terry was born. If you knew Cal, you knew he was a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, and often schooled “non-hunting hunters” on how to actually get a deer. He spent many hours out on the water fishing and many more hours camping with Betty, Penny, and all of his friends. Cal frequented the Iola Car Shows. He really loved giving his money to his buddies that came over to play cards. He spent plenty of time at the truck stop for breakfast, ensuring that when he left, Penny would get her pound of bacon.
One of Cal’s biggest passions in life was working on cars. He was an extraordinary auto body paint technician, and he worked for many body shops throughout his career. He also loved doing total restorations to old vehicles, which he did out of his own shop, Renegade Customs. He had many happy customers.
