David “Dave” A. Barton, 85, of Eau Claire passed away peacefully among family and friends on January 26, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital.
David was born on March 14, 1931 to Samuel and Selma (Lewis) Barton in Walker, Minnesota. David had numerous jobs over the years, his last one was working at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire. David loved taping gospel shows and listening to gospel music.
He is survived by one brother, George (Barbara) Barton of Washington state. He is also survived by many nieces & nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and great-great nieces & nephews. David had one special niece, Bonnie (Ed Insteness) Lambert of Eleva; and a special great niece, Amber Lambert of Mondovi, as well as great-great nephew Kaleb Lazzaroni of Mondovi. He was also survived by special friends David and Barbara Koutney, the Randy’s Restaurant family and staff, and the whole congregation at the Pentecostal Assembly Church.
David was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Selma; three brothers, Tom, Gene, and infant brother Jimmy; and one sister, Mary Hayenga.
David will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Pentecostal Assembly Church located at Nine 9th Ave, Eau Claire, WI with Pastor Paul Bennett officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:30 am until the time of service Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow services at Rest Haven Cemetery in Eau Claire.
Was so sorry to read about David. My husband Dean ran around with his brother George when they were young. I didn’t know David that well but met him a couple of times. Prayers to his family.
