Donald J. Troestler, 56, of Jim Falls, formally of Fall Creek, passed away Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Donald was born November 26, 1960 in Beeville, TX, to Thomas and Carol (Grant) Troestler.  He married Suzanne LaBerge in 1986 in Fall Creek, WI.  Donald was born into a military family and moved around a lot as a child.  He attended Chippewa Valley Technical College and received an Associates in Accounting.  He worked at Wolniak in Cornell and then worked for Truck Aline for 15 years before opening his own construction business.  Donald enjoyed working and spending time with his family. 

Donald is survived by his wife Suzanne Troestler of Jim Falls, WI; his sons, Jeff (Julie) Troestler of Almond, WI, Scott (Erin) Troestler of Jim Falls, WI, and Mitchell Troestler of Jim Falls, WI; grandchildren, Scott Troestler Jr., Kasey Anne Troestler, Eric Troeslter, and Tyler Troestler; his father, Thomas (Kathie Bauer) Troestler; brothers, Stephen (Martha) Troestler and Mike Troestler; twin sister, Donna Troestler; and sisters Peggy (Bill) Whiting and Maria (Chris) Lindquist; Step-brothers, Tom, Ted and Tim Bauer; and step-sister, Amy Miotke. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Troestler; and daughter, Tami Troestler. 

Donald was a loving father and grandfather, as well as a very hard worker.  He will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 3:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel, Eau Claire.  A visitation will take place from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.

  1. So very sorry to hear of Don’s passing. He fought cancer valiantly. Praying for the family that they will find peace, comfort and strength to get through the days ahead. He left this earth far to early, but now he is no longer having to deal with pain and suffering.

  2. I am so sorry for your families loss. I didn’t know Donald but I know what a wonderful caring family he was part of. He is at peace now and I am sure he is smiling down upon all of you. Peggy my friend, I am here for you if there is anything you need and please give your dad a big hug.

  3. I’m sorry for your lost I’m going through the same thing with my son he only 34 they can’t do much he just go for treatments take care

  4. Don was a sweet and caring person who took the time to talk to all. His devotion to Sue and his children was evident to all who knew him. We are saddened by his untimely passing and give our sincere condolences to his family. Jim and Robie Troestler
