Douglas A. Fenner, 84 of Chippewa Falls passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital.
Doug was born to Jesse and Esther (Lockren) Fenner on September 8, 1934 in Eau Claire. He graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School. Doug served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954-1957. He was united in marriage to Jan Klaes on September 26, 1959 at St. Patrick’s Parish. Doug was a truck driver for many years until he retired in 1996. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and friends on his pontoon on Lake Wissota. Doug was a wonderful husband and father who will be dearly missed.
Doug is survived by his wife of 59 years Jan; daughters: Shelly (Peter) Strains of Sheboygan Falls, WI and Shannon (Kevin) Kleist of Kalispell, Montana; grandchildren: Kiel (Holly) Pohl, Laura, Angela, Alex, and Samantha Kleist; one great-grandchild on the way; sister Irene Sill; and sister-in-law Mary Jane Fenner. Doug is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Ervin (Marion) Fenner and Clyde Fenner; and brother-in-law Gordon Sill.
A memorial service will be held at Smith Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 12:00 pm with Father Jesse Burish officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until the time of service at the funeral home. Family and friends may leave online condolences at www.smithfuneralec.com.
