Geraldine L. Harsh, 88 of Eau Claire passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Dove Healthcare-West.

Geraldine was born on July 30, 1929 to Elgart and Lillian (Lissack) Rosentrater in Eau Claire.  She graduated from Eau Claire High School.  She married Donald Harsh on August 16, 1947 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eau Claire.  Geraldine was a cook supervisor for the Eau Claire School District for many years. She also worked as a parking lot attendant at CVTC for 10 years. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and cooking.  Geraldine loved to spend time on the lake at her camper. 

Geraldine is survived by her children, Gail Larson of Eau Claire, James (Diane) Harsh of Eau Claire, and Gary (Zelda) Harsh of Eau Claire; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother Harold (June) Rosentrater of Eau Claire; and sister-in-law, Lois Rosentrater of Eau Claire.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Harsh; grandsons, James and Eric Harsh; great-granddaughter, Samantha Coyle; and brother, Ralph “Bud” Rosentrater.

Funeral services will be on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Nathan Aaseng officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.  Burial will follow the service at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.

  1. Our condolences to the family. We will miss Aunt Geri, but she is at peace and in the loving arms of Jesus. She has been reunited with Uncle Don and looks forward to seeing you all when your time comes as well. We will meet again. I love and miss you all and my prayers are with you.
