Homer D. Schwingle, 92 of Menomonie passed away Friday, February 5, 2016 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie.

Homer was born on January 24, 1924 to Henry and Emma (Larson) Schwingle in Cumberland, Wisconsin. Homer enjoyed playing his accordion and keyboard. He loved working with wood and doing carpentry work. He also enjoyed going camping.

Homer is survived by his wife, Florence Schwingle; ten children, Diann Jackson (Dave Maroney), Richard (Gail) Schwingle, Cathy (Larry) Lipkie, Linda (Jerry) Wildenberg, Bonnie Kay (Jerry) LaGesse, Daniel (Starla) Schwingle, Ann Story (Dayle Claflin), Connie (Randy) Bender, Randy (Lisa) Schwingle, and Debbie Eckstrom; six step-children, Donita (Tom) Lerum, Beverly Seifert, Ron (Rhonda) Hogan, Linda (Dave) Larson, Teresa Hogan, and Jeff (Sally) Hogan; numerus grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

Homer was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Schwingle; sister, Laura Barfknecht; brother, Reuben Schwingle; and grandson Bob (BJ) Jackson.

Memorial services will be Friday, February 12, 2016 at 12:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel, 2222 London Raod, Eau Claire, Wisconsin 54701. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the services at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will follow the services at Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
