It is with great sadness that the family of Janice T. Jepperson announces her passing on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at the age of 85.
Jan was born on May 19, 1932 to Theodore and Jorun (Engevold) Nelson on the family farm in Whitehall, WI. She graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1950 and was united in marriage to Darrel Jepperson on July 6, 1951 at the Great Lakes Marine Base in Illinois.
Jan was a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest love was caring for and spending time with her family. She had a very strong faith and was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and Jan also showed strong will and support during Darrel’s military commitment. Jan was also very proud of her Norwegian heritage, often using Norwegian phrases in daily conversation.
Jan worked in various positions throughout her life and her income was primarily used for activities for her children. She was very generous of heart and money and was a lifetime supporter of numerous non-profit organizations.
Jan enjoyed crocheting and each of her grandchildren will always treasure their special blankets made with love by “Grandma Jan”. Jan really loved hosting the family holidays and her welcoming smile was truly what made them special. She loved all her pets; especially the many dogs and birds she had throughout her lifetime. Jan loved spending time at their cabins and in the Tucson, Arizona area where she spent many winters.
