LaDonne “Donnie” R. Bock, 75, of Eau Claire went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 31, 2021. She passed peacefully in the presence of family at Oakwood Health Services in Altoona, Wisconsin.
Donnie was born on October 26, 1945 to Clifton and Sophie (Tollison) Evans in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She was the fifth of seven siblings. Growing up, she was very close to her aunts Olive and Ruth from Red Wing, Minnesota. Donnie married Ken Bock on December 26, 1986 in Reno, Nevada. She worked as a secretary for Boeing for many years. She lovingly embraced her role as step-mom and later on, as grandma and great grandma. Donnie made many trips back and forth spending time with her loved ones in both Washington and Wisconsin.
Donnie will be remembered by all who knew her as an incredibly generous person with a kind and loving spirit, full of life and always ready to have a good time. She enjoyed retelling a funny story or joke, and loved taking trips with family or friends. Most who knew Donnie also knew she loved to shop. Whether at JC Penney’s or the grocery store, she was always up for finding a bargain. Donnie loved cooking up favorite foods for others to celebrate birthdays, as a thank you, or a surprise, and she took great pleasure in providing those she cared about with something they loved. Donnie was well known by all the children in her life to always have a treat in her purse or a full candy dish in her home. In recent years, she enjoyed serving as a greeter at West Ridge Church in Eau Claire. She loved any time spent with family and friends – Tuesday night dinners with Maria, Lolly, and Pam were a true highlight, as well as Norwegian baking day where krumkake was Donnie’s specialty.
All who were blessed to know Donnie will greatly miss the joy they felt in her presence and the way she made everyone feel deserving of being spoiled.
Donnie is survived by her daughters, Traci (Greg) Brown and Tami Bock; son, Dean (Jennifer) Bock; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Vivian Mohr and Pamela (Thomas) Hagen; brothers, Thomas Evans and John Evans; and many nieces and nephews.
Donnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Bock; brother, Jerry Evans; sister, Lolly DeRusha; and grandson, Ricky Colee.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 am at West Ridge Church, 3906 Kane Rd, Eau Claire. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will take place at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, Washington.
