Lucille “Lucie” Julia Gierok 73, of Eau Claire passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

She was born in Whitehall, Wisconsin on November 9, 1943 and was the third oldest of eight children born to Lawrence J. and Theresa Dubiel. As a child she was baptized and later confirmed at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church.

Later she met and married Donald A. Gierok, with whom she worked and traveled extensively with during their long marriage. Much later on in life they divorced. Her best companions, along with her family and friends, were her two beloved Yorkies of which she was very passionate about. During her life she enjoyed dancing, gardening, reading, and was an active member of the Birch Street Baptist Church in Eau Claire.

Lucille is survived by her siblings: Larry P. (Mary) Dubiel of Strum, Patricia (Alphonse) Saverenski of Independence, Theresa Tiffany of Menomonie, Blanche Bautch of Osseo, Eugene (Mary) Dubiel of Cable, and Aaron (Lisa) Dubiel of Baraboo; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence J. and Theresa Dubiel, her younger sister Geraldine Bashka, her niece Darlene Miles, and her brother-in-law Jeff J. Bautch.

Funeral Services will be held on August 18, 2018 at the Birch Street Baptist Church in Eau Claire, WI at 1:00 pm with Rev. Tim Hallett Jr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at church. The church is located at 3120 Birch Street in Eau Claire, approximately ½ mile West of exit 89 off the Highway 53 Bypass.

  1. So very shocked to learn of Lucie’s passing. She once told me she wanted to be buried next to her dad if that were possible. That was her wishes but I don’t know if any of the family knows this. If any of the family has questions, please contact me. Bonnie Rusfeldt 715-829-3863 Sorry for your loss and may God give you the strength to get through this.
