My condolences to the family and friends of Marita Smith. I am retired Burnett CVSO and worked with her for many years and enjoyed many spirited conversations. May she rest in peace. God Bless.
Marita was a real help to Veterans. God bless her for that.
She really cared and tried to make a difference all the time.
Not to many around like that.

My first real job during my junior year at ECHS was at the EC Public Library as it was known then. I was a scared kid in 1956; and I had been offered a part time typing job after school. Marita and I worked in the same office. She was such a gracious and helpful mentor. I’ve never forgotten her and her kindness to me!
May she rest in peace.
Marita Smith helped me with my college loan that I qualified for as a daughter of a deceased Vet. Marita was very kind and patient when paperwork issues developed, and met with me many times to keep things on track. I appreciated her personal attention. I have very strong and good memories of her from the early 80’s.
Sending my deepest condolences. Marita was my great aunt & her photo reminds me so much of my grandmother (her sister) Irene.
So sorry to hear of Marita’s passing. We exchanged Christmas cards for many years. I will remember her and her dry humor fondly. My mother, Shirley Berlin, worked with and for Marita for several years and I remember, as a youth, walking to the “old” Eau Claire Court House after school, waiting in the Veteran’s office till mom got done with work and Marita making sure I was comfortable and had a quite place to do homework while waiting.
