Richard D. Ross, 87 of Eau Claire passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona.
Richard was born on May 24, 1929 to Denver and Mary (Berg) Ross in Eau Claire. He married Joann Naybert in October of 1949 in Waukon, Iowa and from this marriage had five children. He later married June Hoff and they had many years together. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.
Richard is survived by his wife, June Ross of Eau Claire; children, Steven (Mari) Ross of Eau Claire, Chuck (Maryann) Ross San Diego, CA, Nancy (Gary) Burchell of Galesville, WI, Jim (Krissann) Ross of Eau Claire, and Ann (Daryl) Nitchke of Prosper, TX; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Stone, Holly (Matt) Wilde, Ryan Ross, Jason Ross, Stacy (Kevin) Hauge, Stephanie (Cliff) Winn, Brandon Burchell, Joshua Ross, Sara Ross, Tony Ross, and Heather; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Joann Ross.
Funeral services will be on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Irgens officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Lakeview Cemetery.
