Frederick George Kawell

Fred Kawell Jr., 83, passed away after a brief illness Sunday, October 25, 2015 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire. Angels took him to his final home in heaven surrounded by his wife, children and many grandchildren. He was a loving, caring husband and father and the best grandpa and great grandpa.

Fred was born March 14, 1932, to Marie and Fred Kawell Sr.

Fred and Berniece met when they were teenagers, and were married November 21, 1951. They were a fun-loving couple for over 63 years! They were blessed with four children: Judy (Tom), Fred (Joan), Jean (Tim), and Bob (Brenda); 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister Barb (Gary) Hanson.

Fred was a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force before working for Williams Bros. Pipeline for 40 years.

He enjoyed golfing with his buddies, fishing and hunting with his family and would never miss an opportunity to watch his grandchildren at football, baseball, golf, band and soccer. He also coached his sons’ baseball teams. His family was his greatest joy.

  8. We are so sorry for your loss and are sending love, prayers and healing thoughts your way. We’ll sure miss seeing Fred out in the yard every other day or so mowing the lawn…..also on those walks with you. Spunky always wanted to run right up to him so maybe he did that when he got to heaven too since he’d only been there for a few days himself so he was still probably hanging around the gate.
We’ll be right next door if you need anything, Bernice and we’ll be checking in on you.
