Lee A. Haskins, 78 of Altoona, passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018.
Lee was born to Jack and Marion (Nimmo) Haskins on August 17, 1940 in Eau Claire. He graduated from Memorial High School in 1958. He joined the Army in January of 1961 and served until October of 1985. Lee was involved in Demolay with the Masonic Temple, Charter member of Cub Scouts Pack 59 and Boy Scouts Troop 89. He was a past commander of Post 32 and of the American Legion Post 53 and was a member of the Eastern Star 128.
Lee is survived by his wife Carolyn Haskins; children: Margaret (Ezekiel Palika) Goldstein, Michelle (Tim) Schwartzmiller, Marie (Travis) Dicks, and Matthew (Jessica) Haskins; grandchildren: Isabel, Gunnar, Cecily Schwartzmiller, Brandin, Levi, and Chanler Dicks, Hailey, Sullivan, and Ava Haskins; great-grandson Liam Dicks; sister-in-law Mary Orysen and brother Dick Klingler. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and parents-in-law.
A funeral service will be held at Smith Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m until the time of service. Burial will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery with the American Legion Post 53 preforming Military Honors. Family and friends may leave online condolences at www.smithfuneralec.com.
