Lenette A. Elwing, 71 of Eau Claire passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Oakwood Villa Nursing Home in Altoona, Wisconsin.

Lenette was born on January 16, 1944 to Leonard and Jeanette (Marshall) Glinski of Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Lenette graduated from Rhinelander High School, and was later employed there as a secretary. Lenette married John Elwing on July 19, 1986 in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Together, they resided in Milwaukee, Wisconsin until they later moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Lenette worked for Eau Claire County Human Services until her retirement. She was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. Lenette enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones.

Lenette is survived by her husband, John Elwing of Eau Claire; her children, Scott (Angela) Marquardt of Elk Mound, WI and Teresa (Bradley) Jahr of Rice Lake, WI; one step-child, Chris (Glen) Hajek of Hartford, WI; four grandchildren, Natalie Jahr, Maxwell Marquardt, Zander Jahr, and Susan Marquardt; two step-grandchildren Angie (Patrick) Paulson and Jennifer Lynn Hajek; and one great-grandchild, Rylie Paulson; one brother, Richard (Debby) Glinski; one sister, Patricia Jesse; and many nieces and nephews.

Lenette was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Richie Marquardt.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Memorial services will be on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 5:30 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel with Father George. Visitation will start at 4:00 pm up until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.smithfuneralec.com.

    There is not a day that passes where I don’t think of all the wonderful times I had growing up with the two of you and your Mom , she was an incredible lady who I am so blessed to have spent so much time with. my condolences for your loss ,my prayers are with you.
