Linda K. Sloat, 67 of Gillette, Wyoming passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 surrounded by family at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire.

Linda was born on June 17, 1950 to Roda and Evelyn (Burlum) Jungerberg in Wisconsin. She graduated from Fall Creek High School in 1969.  She married Rick Sloat on May 3, 1975 at St. James Trinity Lutheran Church in Fall Creek.  Linda loved to go camping and ride motorcycles.  She was an avid football fan and would always root for her favorite team the Minnesota Vikings.  She also enjoyed gardening and crafting.  Linda loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband Rick Sloat of Gillette, WY; daughters, Traci (Keith) Schroeder Ragels of Cheyenne, WY and Jamie Sloat of Gillette, WY; grandchildren, Madison and Morgan Rounds and Ryan, Carter, and Raeder Overfield; great-granddaughter, Amelia Overfield; brother, Clark (Carolyn) Jungerberg of Fall Creek; her beloved dog, Cricket; sister and brother in laws, Karen (Alan) McCoury and Ronnie Sloat; and several nieces and nephews. 

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Roda and Evelyn; step-father, Orvin Canestorp; in-laws, Gerald and Kathryn Sloat; and son-in-law, Doug Overfield.

Memorial services will be Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Forke officiating.  Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday.  Burial will follow the service at Rest Haven Cemetery.

  3. Rick, I am so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. You and your family are in my prayers. I teach a grief support group every Tues night at 7pm at family life church if you are ever interested in coming. Lots of love to you.
