Margaret E. Husby, 97 of Eau Claire passed away Monday, February 15, 2016 at Oakwood Villa Nursing home.

Margaret was born on November 3, 1918 to Anton and Elidda (Gundersrude) Larson in Osseo, Wisconsin. She attended and graduated from Osseo High School. Margaret had a zest for life, and was well known for her “feisty” personality. She was often referred to as the “stubborn” Norwegian by her son-in-law, Jer. She made everyone laugh with her spicy sense of humor. Only the Lord knew what she would say next. She spent her time with her daughter, Dolly, and her grandchildren. Countless weekends were spent spoiling those closest to her.

Margaret is survived by her son-in-law, Gerald Janssen of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Jodi (Troy) Gates of Chippewa Falls and Andy (Sara) Janssen of Eau Claire; great-grandchildren, Teresa Cunningham, Cameron Gates, and Dalton Janssen; brother-in-law, Tony (Esther) Larson of Osseo; sister, Bernice Larson of Osseo; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Elidda; siblings, Alfred Larson, Martin Larson, Lawrence Larson, Leonard Larson, Chuck Larson, Maybelle Carroll and Evelyn Zettler; as well as her beloved and only child, Darlene “Dolly” Janssen. All have been reunited in their eternal life.

Memorial service will be Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:00 am at Smith Funeral Chapel with Pastor Robert Hoekstra officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Northside Lutheran Cemetery.
