Mildred Stetzer

Mildred E. Stetzer, 89 of Eau Claire passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Clairemont Nursing Home.

Mildred was born on July 20 1925 to John and Laura (Stone) Berg in Rock Falls, Wisconsin. She married Douglas J Stetzer on May 8, 1948 in Eau Claire. Mildred enjoyed quilting with her church group, playing bingo, fishing, traveling, and spending time with family.

Mildred is survived by her two children, Dale (Linda) Stetzer of Colfax, Wisconsin, and John (Susan) Stetzer of Williamsburg, Virginia; one stepson, Douglas (Sandra) Stetzer of Mesa, AZ; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Stetzer of Menomonie, Teresa (Dave) Nanstad of Eau Claire, Tonya Olson of Eau Claire, Travis (Sandy) Henning of Wisconsin Dells, Joshua Stetzer of Williamsburg, VA, Emily Adams of Williamsburg, VA, and Ryan Stetzer of Williamsburg, VA; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vivian Hayden of Mondovi, Jeanette Hubbard of Eau Claire, and Lois Fox of Eau Claire; and one brother, Russell (Joan) Berg of Eau Claire.

Mildred is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas J Stetzer; one daughter, Clover J. Bennett; two stepsons, Ken Stetzer and Steve Stetzer; one grandson, Dean V. Stetzer; one great-granddaughter Niccole Henning; three sisters, Bertha Stai, Maxine Berg, and Donna Berg; and six brothers, Benny, Roger, Harry, David, John Jr., and Dale Berg.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Rest Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Foundation at 3333 North Mayfair Road, #213, Milwaukee, WI 53222.

    Sorry for the loss of your dear sister. I have fond memories of Millie and all the Berg family, especially at old Cranberry Creek School. My thoughts and prayers are with you. May she rest in peace!!
