Roderick “Rick” W. Prill, 62 of Eau Claire passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017 peacefully at his home after an unfortunate battle with cancer.
Rick was born on May 19, 1955 to DeWyane and Majorie (Morth) Prill in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. He spent a lot of time with his brother and they enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing softball, hockey, bowling, and trap together. Rick worked at First Supply for 30 years. He took a special fishing trip to Canada each year. Rick had a heart of gold. He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends.
Rick is survived by Diana Prill; his daughters, Kristy “Poopie” Prill (Geoff Hetke) and Jenny “Fur Fur” Prill (Purple Baby); grandchildren, Alijah Shafer, Amiri Prill, and Jax Hetke; brother, Rod (Deb) Prill Sr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Alice Price.
Visitation and memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shephard on Thursday, June 15, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.

  1. My deepest sympathy goes out to Rick’s family. I saw him, mostly, when he couldn’t see, for more years than either he or I could remember, until Lori took him on. He was a wonderful, caring, good person. I feel very fortunate that I called him friend. Hugs and prayers.

  2. Rick, you were a good cousin and friend. You will be missed so very much. We had a few good times that I will look back on fondly. I’m glad we got to take that trip together to Idaho, even if it was for a sad reason. All my love and support to the family, I pray for your strength in the weeks and months to come, love to you all.

  4. I met Rick shortly after he started with Eau Claire Plumbing. He was a good man and always did a great job.Sorry to hear of your loss with prayers and good thoughts of happy memories of Rick. Rest in peace my friend! Thom.

  5. I am a friend and former coworker of Rick’s. We had many great times together. Bowling, ice fishing, softball among other things. His sense of humor and wit will be missed. Rest in peace Rick.
