Sophie Woodcock, 89 of Eau Claire died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at her home.
Sophie was born on August 16, 1926 to Stanley and Mary Perczynski in Conrath, Wisconsin. She married Russell Woodcock on April 23, 1947. Sophie was a stay at home wife and mother. She was always available for free babysitting for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sophie volunteered many hours to her church for funerals, weddings, and other fund raisers. She was a great cook, and her bread pudding will never be duplicated.
Sophie is survived by her husband of almost 69 years, Russell; children, Shirley (Ken) Watson of Eau Claire and John Woodcock of Eau Claire; sisters, Leona Lee of Eau Claire and Mary Sterba of Ladysmith; grandchildren, Dan (Jodi) Watson, Kelly (Aaron) Oas, Chad (Rachel) Allen, Tami (Tim) Hagmann, and Mark Veitch; and ten great-grandchildren.
Sophie was preceded in death by her daughter, Terri Woodcock; sisters, Frances Henrich and Lucille Hebard; brothers, Peter Sterba and Joseph Sterba.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Olaf Catholic Church with Rev. Paul Hoffman officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 7, 2016 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Smith Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church. Burial will be at 1:00 pm at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
